Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett Says Black People Should be Exempt from Paying Taxes: 'You Owe for the Labor That Was Stolen.'

U.S Congresswoman, Jasmine Crockett (D) of Texas, suggested Black Americans should be exempt from paying taxes, during an interview on #BlackLawyersPodcast S.4 Ep. 4 #Congresswoman #JasmineCrockett (youtube.com). The comments have since gone viral with many saying that the Congresswoman is delusional. Right-wing personality Paul A. Szypula wrote on X: "We pay Crockett almost $200k a year to be in Congress and spout this nonsense. Unbelievable."

However, when you listen to the interview it was an idea that was not something Congresswoman Crockett suggested, however she does support the idea but noted the flaws in attempting to get other Congressmen on board with such a measure. When the conservative social media account End Wokeness publicized her comments on X, the video accumulated more than 2 million views by early Wednesday afternoon.

The headlines misrepresent the whole of the Congresswoman's sentiment. The Majority of the comments coming from the Right-Wing News Media did not admit that reparations should be made in the form of monetary payments including exemption from paying taxes. Many Black Americans would welcome the chance to keep more of their income, thereby having more spendable dollars that can help the spur economic growth. In a nutshell, providing a tax-exempt law for Black Americans would give a boost to the economy and repair the purchasing power in the Black community, leveling the playing field in this capitalistic society.

Seems that the Congresswoman maybe on to something. Leveling the economic playing field in a society where for decades the Black community net financial worth is substantially lower than their white counterparts, would be a great start to repairing the damage that was done to a community by their government and fellow American citizens. Lest we forget. Does the American Right want to see Black Americans level up?

One Fox News Commentator said, "we can't afford this right now". If not now, then when?
