Pamela Moses Announces Intent to Run for US Senate, to Pull Republican
Petition
[Nashville, TN, March 25, 2024] – Pamela J. Moses, a respected figure
in Tennessee for her tireless advocacy for voting rights, social
justice, and community empowerment, has announced her intention to run
for the United States Senate. Moses will take the first formal step
in her candidacy by making a formal announcement as to why she pulled
a Republican and Independent petition. Moses is set to initiate her
candidacy formally by announcing the reasons behind her decision to
pull a Republican petition. On March 25, 2024, coinciding with the
anniversary of the marchers' arrival at the entrance of the Alabama
State Capitol building, where they presented a petition to Governor
George Wallace, Moses will officially announce her campaign kick off.
This event is significant as it occurred just months before Congress
passed the Voting Rights Act, subsequently signed into law by
President Lyndon B. Johnson on August 6, 1965.
Pamela Moses, renowned for her grassroots activism and unwavering
dedication to amplifying marginalized voices, emerges as a strong
contender to represent Tennessee nationally. Seeking federal office
she emphasizes bipartisan collaboration and diverse perspectives in
governance. Moses, a vocal advocate for civil and human rights,
pioneered the term "artivist" by integrating art and music into her
activism. Despite facing adversity, including legal persecution and
incarceration, her commitment to justice remains unshaken. Founding
the Black Lives Matter–Memphis Chapter and leading initiatives for
equality, Moses extends her activism into politics, serving as North
Memphis Ambassador for Change and actively engaging in the United
States Human Rights Network. Her candidacy strives to elevate these
critical issues and drive tangible change for Tennessee and the entire
nation.
In announcing her candidacy, Pamela Moses stated, "I am honored to
take this step towards representing all of the people of Tennessee in
the United States Senate regardless of political affiliation. Our
country is facing significant challenges, and I believe that by
working together across party lines, we can create a brighter future
for all Americans."
