May 21, 2024, Washington D.C., The Conductor of the National Reparation Convention 2024, Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz vowed that Washington D.C. will not be the same after this past weekend May 17-19, 2024. Touting the successful boycott of Capital One Bank held on May 17th and 18th. Shabazz stated, “it wasn’t a whole lot of banking going on. It wasn’t business as usual this morning”, recalling the proud moments he witnessed as fellow citizens of the Afrodescendant Nation exercised their 1st Amendment Right to peacefully protest in the heart of the Nation’s Capital.
The protest was a kick-off to what Attorney Shabazz has deemed the start or beginning of many economic sanctions members of the Afrodescendant Nation plan to levy against entities/organizations that played a role in the authorization and financing of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, systemic racism and/or supported countless human rights violations perpetrated against members of the Afrodescendant Nation. The Honorable Silis Muhammad, CEO of the Lost Found Nation of Islam and keynote speaker, spoke on his recent visit to Geneva Switzerland, where members of the Afrodescendant Nation spoke before the United Nations’ Third session of the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent in April 2024.
The Honorable Muhammad informed the Afrodescendant Nation that he declared on the international world stage, and the Untied Nations has acknowledged, that the descendants of slavery in the Americas are victims of International Human Rights Violations due to the Western Colonial Powers’ deprivation of descendants of slaves human rights of identity, language, and culture. The Honorable Muhammad, soon to be 86 years old, told the listening audience that after over 400 years, a people that were stripped of their identity, religion, culture and way of life, now have an identity. The Honorable Muhammad said that 19 countries in the Americas identify as members of the Afrodescendant Nation.
Presidential Candidate Cornel West joined Dr. Muhammad and Conductor Shabazz on Monday May 20, 2024, at the National Press Club, where Dr. West declared his support of the Afrodecendant Nation in their quest to receive reparations and vowed, as President when elected, he would encourage Congress to pass a Bill, that he would sign, authorizing Reparation payments to the members of the Afrodescendant Nation. On Saturday May 18, 2024, Attorney Shabazz announced that Dr. West joined the Afrodecsendant Nation and the Nation is endorsing the West/Abdullah Campaign for President of the United States 2024. Dr. West also picked up the endorsement of the Black Lawyers for Justice organization as well while attending the Conference.
The West Abdullah Campaign made history as the first all “Black” Presidential Campaign, now on the ballot and polling in several states across the country. West/Abdullah Campaign is now seen as a formidable threat to the status quo duopoly of Democrat, Republican election choices. West mentioned at the Press Conference, one among many things that set him apart from the Biden and Trump Campaigns, is his Campaign tells the truth out of love for the people. He also mentioned that the country’s moral compass has been compromised, bought and sold by the powerful one percent that hold the majority of the wealth in the country. The West/Abdullah Campaign plans to restore the countries dignity and love for humanity through common sense policies that benefit all Americans, particularly the poor and underrepresented.
West also spoke on his Foreign Policy position in respect to the ongoing crisis in Gaza and uprising on college and university campuses. He mentioned the hypocrisy of the Biden Administration’s handling of the peaceful protest on the campuses and his lack of response to brutality levied on the students at the hands of police. West agreed with the students at Moorehouse College that expressed their objection to the Moorehouse Administration inviting Biden as Key Note Speaker at this year’s Graduation Commencement Exercise. West noted that the students are aware of the Biden Administrations hypocritical actions in support of the Israel Defense Federation genocide of Palestinian citizens. West is noted as the only Presidential Candidate that has unapologetically called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The Press Conference lasted for nearly three hours, as West answered questions from those in attendance. He also posed for pictures, shook hands and handed out love hugs. The National Reparations Conference continues today May 21, 2024 with another boycott in front of Wells Fargo Bank, downtown Washington D.C. Presidential Candidate West is scheduled to attend the boycott as well.
